Lake group gains an ally

Posted

WEYAUWEGA – At their Oct. 9 meeting, Weyauwega Lake Restoration, Inc laid out their vision for a sustainable management plan for Weyauwega Lake. State Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara sent her representative, Sydney Faestel, to the meeting and she pledged to help the group host face-to-face discussions with principal government bodies having lakes under their jurisdictions. This will facilitate unified consent concerning the management and health of the lakes. It will allow the county to go to the state with one voice. She also pledged to help bring together the lake associations within Waupaca County as a purchasing group for equipment necessary to maintain the lakes. This would spread the expense of weed harvesters and weed cutters across a number of lake associations rather than each one having to purchase or rent one.
