Meet the Fleet moves to Iola

First responders and other companies will gather for Meet the Fleet from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 23,

This year’s event will be at a new location, the Iola Car Show Grounds, 350 Chrome Place.

Visitors can climb into their favorite vehicles including squad cars, fire trucks, ambulances, tow truck, SWAT vehicle, race cars, dump trucks, tractors and many more.

Other activities include live music by Straight Whiskey Serenade from 4-7 p.m., fire extinguisher simulator, K9 demos, ThedaStar landing at 5 p.m. (availability & weather permitting), County HazMat Team demonstration, auto extrication demonstration by Iola Fire Department,

Also planned ar activities for the children such as face painting, Steve and Carl’s Traveling Snake Shows and a dunk tank.

“We have received so much positive feedback from this event,” said Meet the Fleet organizer Capt. Kevin Studzinski, with the Wupaca County Sheriff’s Office. “To be able to build so many amazing relationships with not only the itizens and our youth, but also with our fellow officers and first responders, is such an awesome thing to see and be a part of.”

In the past, numerous Waupaca County law enforcement agencies, fire departments, EMS, and others have participated in this event.

This event is free and offers an opportunity to meet many of community partners and first responders.

Food and beverages will be available during the event.
