NEW LONDON — New London residents Brennan Nau and Julia Martinson have advanced into the top five of the nationwide “America’s Favorite Couple” competition, and they are looking for local support to take them all the way to the top spot.
The online contest, hosted by Colossal to benefit non-profits Oceana and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, offers the winning couple a $20,000 cash prize, a featured spread in Variety magazine, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles for a celebrity dinner date with Jeff and Emilie Goldblum, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, and Charlie Day and Mary Elizabeth Ellis.
Martinson and Nau are currently competing in the group round, where they need to finish in the top two to advance into the quarterfinals and wildcard rounds.
Supporters can cast one free vote every 24 hours online. Additional votes can also be submitted through tax-deductible donations that support ocean conservation and food security programs.
