CLINTONVILLE 0

CLINTONVILLE-The Manawa Wolves delivered an impressive performance, shutting out the Clintonville Truckers on the road with a final score of 35–0 on Sept. 4. With this decisive win, the Wolves moved to 1–2 on the season, while the Truckers fell to 0–3.

Manawa’s passing game proved unstoppable, accounting for all five of the team’s touchdowns. Junior quarterback Carson Stroud led the charge with an efficient performance: completing 8-of-10 passes for 151 yards and five touchdowns.

Complementing their passing attack, the Wolves generated 151 rushing yards on 25 carries, averaging 6.0 yards per carry. Stroud had eight carries for 77 yards.

Stroud spread the wealth among his targets, with five different receivers catching a touchdown pass Theron Schuelke had three receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown, Porter Gehrke with one reception, 30 yards and a touchdown, Carter Barrington two receptions, 29 yards, and a touchdown, Logan Zirbel one reception, 20 yards, and a touchdown Reed Schlueter (SR): one reception, seven yards and a touchdown.

APPLETON-The Hortonville Polar Bears fell to Appleton North on Sept. 4 at home in a Fox Valley Association opener.

Despite a strong passing performance from Hortonville, Appleton North controlled the scoreboard to earn the win. Hortonville struggled to establish a ground attack, relying heavily on their aerial passing game throughout the contest.

AJ Pheifer led the offense by completing 15 of 27 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Greyson Rankin recorded a game-high 150 receiving yards on six receptions. Keaton Foster (three catches, 43 yards and a touchdown) and Jon Englebert (three catches, 66 yards, and a touchdown) caught Pheifer’s touchdown passes.

IOLA-SCANDINAVIA 14,

NORTH CRAWFORD 6

IOLA-The Thunderbirds won their third straight game in eight-player football on Sept.4.

Korz Loken scored the two lone touchdowns for the Thunderbirds on runs of three yards and 25 yards.

North Crawford scored a late touchdown to make the final score 14-6.

FREEDOM 63,

NEW LONDON 7

FREEDOM- The top-ranked Freedom Irish hosted the New London Bulldogs as they won decisively.

Josh Batten completed 8 of 16 passes for 114 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Cory Brooker provided the standout play for the Bulldogs, catching five passes for 108 yards and scoring New London’s lone touchdown on a 63-yard pass.

Trevor Schultz paced the defense with eight total tackles (six solo) and 35 kick return yards, while Logan Thompson recorded an interception with a 32-yard return.

XAVIER 40,

WAUPACA 0

WAUPACA- The Waupaca Comets fell to 0-3 against the visiting Xavier Hawks as they lost 40-0.

The Comets allowed 364 yards of total offense by the Hawks as they struggled to stop the run, allowing 226 yards rushing.

WEYAUWEGA-FREMONT 35,

WITTENBERG-BIRNAMWOOD 6

WEYAUWEGA-The Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks extended their undefeated streak to 4-0 on September 4, delivering a decisive 35-6 victory over the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers.

The Warhawks set the tone on the ground, amassing 238 total rushing yards and four touchdowns across 42 carries.

Quarterback Carter Birdyshaw led the rushing attack with 97 yards and two touchdowns on 11 attempts. Running back Andy Rosenwinkel carried the workload inside, adding 86 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. DeWayne Borntreger also reached the end zone with a three-yard scoring run.

In the air, Birdyshaw executed an efficient passing performance, completing 8 of 12 passes for 80 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Tyson Quick made the most of his opportunities, catching two passes for 21 yards—including a 23-yard touchdown reception—while Colby Magdanz contributed a team-high 33 receiving yards on two receptions.

Weyauwega-Fremont’s defense controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the contest, holding Wittenberg-Birnamwood to just six points.

Senior linebacker Jason Hansen anchored the defensive unit with a team-leading nine tackles (five solo). Mason Kauper recorded the game’s lone sack alongside a tackle for loss, while Cooper Vandenboomen and Tyson Quick each contributed behind the line of scrimmage with a tackle for loss apiece.

In the secondary, junior Carson Zielke snagged an interception to thwart a Chargers drive.

Kicker Adler Kirkland was perfect on extra point attempts, going five-for-five on PATs. Kirkland also handled kickoff duties, generating five touchbacks on six kickoffs to consistently force Wittenberg-Birnamwood to start deep in their own territory.
