In the Division 1 regional final the number one seeded SPASH Panthers took on the eight seeded Hortonville Polar Bears on Feb. 28.
In a rematch of an early season meeting where Hortonville got the win on the road, SPASH was quick to get out to an early lead as they got up 21-11.
SPASH continued to keep the double-digit lead, but Hortonville started to chip away before halftime as they made the deficit 32-26 at the break.
Leah Awe on getting rebounds for SPASH, “it was really important, it was this or go home, so I really gave it all I had, and everyone boxed out so I just boxed out my person.”
In the second half, SPASH built back a substantial lead as they won by a final score of 61-48 to win the regional championship.
