The Waupaca Comets got the win over the Clintonville Truckers on May 8th in a North Eastern Confernce matchup.
The Comets got the 2-0 advantage in the top of the seventh inning as Max Dolski drove in both Ethan Harms and Max Olson with a double.
It became a 3-0 Waupaca advantage as Jay Card stole home to in the top of the fifth inning, but Clintonville responded in the bottom of the inning as Klayton Kamba doubled to drive in a run, and both Kamba and Griffin Killips scored to the game.
Reece Killips singled to drive in the Truckers fourth run of the inning and give Clintonville a 4-3 lead going into the sixth inning.
Ollie Waller tied the score for Waupaca with a single as it brought in Harms for the score, and Card drove in a run on a single to center field. Dougie Williams hit a fly ball to shortstop to bring in a runner and a sacrifice fly by Reed Rogers brought in John Zeamer to score to give the Comets a 7-4 lead.
Waupaca’s pitching finished off the game as Anikan Stern struck out 10 batters in the matchup to get the win on the mound and the Truckers fell to 0-12 on the season.
