STEVENS POINT — Sara Pientka, 46, was sentenced on Sept. 2 for failing to report her sister’s July 21 murder.

Pientka was sentenced to 120 days in jail, with 19 days counting as credit served. Additionally, she was sentenced to three years of probation. Her probation conditions include no contact with listed victims, not to possess or consume controlled substances without a prescription, not to possess drug paraphernalia, not to associate with any person knowingly possessing or consuming illegal controlled substance, maintain full time employment, not to possess or consume alcohol or be on the premise where alcohol is served or sold as a primary business, write letters of apology to each victim listed, and no contact with the co-defendant, Lyndon Hood.

Hood reportedly killed Jeanette Pientka on July 21 at her Town of Carson residence. The murder followed an eviction process in which the victim was working to evict Sara Pientka and Lyndon Hood from a family home. After attending court for the eviction, Hood went to the victim’s home and stabbed her 11 times, severing her femoral artery. Sara Pientka was allegedly present for the murder, but made no attempts to seek medical help for her sister or call 911.

Lyndon Hood is expected back in Portage County court on Sept. 16.
