Tellock, Erna C.

Erna C. Tellock, age 88 of Clintonville passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London, surrounded by loved ones.

The former Erna Clara Radtke was born on April 27, 1933 in the Town of Grant, Shawano County, to Herman and Selma (Woller) Radtke. She grew up and attended school in Marion. Erna was united in marriage on May 5, 1951 to Roger L. Tellock at St. John Lutheran Church, Marion. The couple dairy farmed for several years before Roger realized that his calling was to become a minister. Erna was always a supportive wife, and the couple moved some in their early days. They served a parish for a few years in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. In 1962, they were called to sister churches, St. Paul’s in Curtiss and Our Savior’s in Holway (Medford). In 1978, they went to St. John’s Stone Bank (Oconomowoc). Her husband semi-retired in 1991, and then they settled in Clintonville. They became members at St. John’s in Marion, and her husband served as a Sunday Supply and Visitation Pastor for a number of years. Erna’s husband preceded her in death on September 25, 2008. Erna was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church, Marion, where she helped with lots of church projects, volunteered with the Women of the ELCA, served on a Funeral Circle, and spent countless hours with the Quilting Groups. She liked cooking, baking, and working in her flower gardens. Erna also enjoyed spending time sewing and working on embroidery projects. She will be remembered most as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Those who knew Erna knew that she was kind, hardworking, and always put others first.

Erna’s happiest memories were of raising her four children and watching her grandchildren grow. Survivors include four children: David (Lynn) Tellock of Green Bay, Barbara Miner of Frankfort, IL, Jeffrey (Patti) Tellock of Richmond, MN, and Lorre (Robert) Pietenpol of Richfield, WI. There are 13 grandchildren: Jody (Nathan) Hass, Matthew (Lychelle) Tellock, Katherine Tellock, Eleanor Tellock, Brock Miner, Ross Miner, Daniel Tellock, Stephanie Tellock, Emily Tellock, Samantha Pietenpol, Alexa Pietenpol, Rebecca (Ryan) Mielke, and Michael Mott. There are nine great-grandchildren: Kayla (Matt) Wolf, Victoria Cram, Zachary Hass, Claire Hass, Sarah Hass, Jacob Hass, Natasha Tellock, Sheila Tellock, and Scarlet Mielke. There is one great-great-granddaughter, Diana Wolf. She is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Leland (Wanda) Tellock, Gerald (Sue) Tellock, Ray (Jeane) Tellock, Lorene Nienke, Ramona Danke, and William Drifka. Erna was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Selma; her husband Roger; one brother, Ervin (Jane) Radtke; and three sisters, Agnes (Clarence) Rusch, LaVern (Lester) Bork, and Elsie (John) Braatz.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate and burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
