Lori was born in Laona, WI on May 31, 1947, the first child of the late August and Ione (Starks) Schoeneck.
After graduating high school, Lori moved to Fond du Lac, WI where she met Glenn Myers. They were united in marriage on April 8, 1967, and together were bestowed with 4 of life’s greatest blessings: Paula Lynne, Jeffery Glenn, Timothy Marc and Dawn Renee. On November 16, 1996, Lori married Jack Chesnut. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2005.

Lori’s legacy can be seen throughout the community she loved and served. She has lived in Waupaca since 1973 and raised her children to take pride in their hometown. Lori took honor in being a founder of Strawberry Fest and can be remembered for bringing the MTV dance party to Waupaca. In 1997, she was the first woman on the Police and Fire Commission. She served as the district 4 Alderperson from 1997-1999 and again from 2015-present. She also dedicated her time to serve others, participating on the Waupaca Area School District school board. She has been awarded an honorary black belt for her strength, courage, resilience, and dedication. She is a proud graduate of Leadership Waupaca. Lori was handpicked by Santa to be his helper, and as Mrs. Claus, she brought joy to many children. For nearly 20 years, she dedicated her career to the Waupaca County Department of Health and Human Services, in the Children and Families Unit, retiring in September of 2022.

Lori touched the hearts of many and truly made the world a better place. She valued life and family, and always trusted in God’s plan. She taught us that “Love Never Dies” and inspired us to do good for others.
“God has not promised skies always blue, flower-strewn pathways all our lives through; God has not promised sun without rain, joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God has promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love.”
