Lain, David

Posted

David Alan Lain, a kind and gentle soul and a master of many trades, passed away on Monday, June 3

at King, Wisconsin after an extended illness.

He was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on December 15, 1950, to Donald and Josephine (née Johnson) Lain. He attended St Peter’s Grade School and Lourdes High School in Oshkosh.

He served in the US Air Force in Vietnam. He later settled in Waupaca where he worked a broad spectrum of skilled jobs as a mechanic, carpenter, and brilliant fixer of just about anything…he was a natural. He was a great lover of music and involved himself in many aspects of performance and production.

Davey leaves behind the apple of his eye, daughter Emily Lain; and the most loyal friend there ever was, Judy Feltz-Lain. He is also survived by siblings Jere (Cheryl) Lain of Oshkosh, Dick Lain (Kristin Seiling) of Madison, and Jeannine Lain of Santa Barbara. David thought the world of his many nieces and nephews: Cathy, Cindy, Jesse, Sarah, Jennifer, Aaron, Andrew, Peter, Brian, Michael, Brandon, Laura, and Brad. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by siblings James, Joel, and Daniel.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.

The family gives heartfelt thanks to the staff at Moses Hall at King and the hospice staff at ThedaCare, whose loving care brought David and his family so much comfort.

The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
