Otte, Sharon

Posted

Sharon Otte, age 62, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

She was born on October 16, 1961 in Waupaca, WI, daughter of the late Carl and Bernice (Ticks) Boelter.

Sharon graduated from Weyauwega-Fremont High School in 1980. On May 26th, 1984 she married Mark Otte. Sharon worked at VF Corporation in the finance department for many years. Her greatest joy was her family! She enjoyed family road trips, sporting events, destination trips, camping, trips to the ding-ding, baking her mother’s cookie recipes, crafting with friends, and just sitting on the back deck enjoying a peaceful night watching birds with her husband. Her face would light up whenever she talked about her grandchildren and those kids sure loved their Grandma Kitty! She enjoyed creating yearly Easter Egg Treasure Hunts, taking them on Haunted Halloween trails, and fixing countless booboos on their favorite stuffed animals. She gave the best hugs and always knew the right comforting words to say. Sharon’s caring, fun, and compassionate soul will be missed by many. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Mark; three children: Crystal (Jeremy) Bruesewitz, Cody (Laura) Otte and Samantha (Jonathan) Thiem; eight grandchildren: Brooklyn, Rylei, Kolten, Gunner, Lydia, Warren, Wade and Oscar; sister: Sue (Tom) Utecht; three brothers: Wally Boelter, Stan (Pattie) Boelter, and Bob (Colleen) Boelter; one sister-in-law: Lynn (Troy) Phillips; two brothers-in-law: Bill (Pam) Otte and Guy (Danise) Otte; nieces, nephews and friends who are like family.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Carl and Bernice Boelter; her mother and father-in-law, Jim and Lei Otte; her brother Duane; sister-in-law, Laura Boelter; and brother-in-law, Greg Otte.

A memorial service for Sharon will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield with Rev. Brian Weber officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 – 10:45 am at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, money donations will be going to various charities in honor of Sharon.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff members at ThedaCare and Froedtert that always treated Sharon like she was their top priority. And especially to Dr. Phan’s team for giving Sharon and her family hope and time after her rare cancer diagnosis last year. Sharon was so inspired by Dr. Phan and the work her team is continually doing to understand NETs cancer that she wanted to donate her body to the Froedtert Medical College in hopes that they will be able to find out more about this cancer and in turn hopefully someday find a cure.
