Waupaca County sheriff’s report Aug. 19-25

  • Aug. 19 – A Hortonville caller on Main Street reported the theft of two electric bikes. They were taken off the front of her camper.
  • Aug. 19 – A Waupaca caller on Pryse Road reported a man walked into his house and woke him up at 4:50 a.m.
  • Aug. 19 – A Waupaca caller on Shagbark Lane reported her quilt was stolen.
  • Aug. 19 – A New London woman on Larry Road reported a suspicious man with a suitcase.
  • Aug. 19 – A Clintonville caller on Kratzke Road reported a trespasser on his property driving a blue Chevy truck.
  • Aug. 19 – A New London man on Shaw Road reported a suspicious man was going door-to-door and trying to sell things. The caller asked if he had a permit. The man replied, “Are you the cops?”
  • Aug. 19 – A New London woman on Weyauwega Road reported a suspicious white van driving slowly up and down the road. She said they were people going door-to-door and selling things. The caller said it was too late for that. It was 11: 15 p.m.
  • Aug 20 – A Manawa caller on Nicolai Road reported a suspicious male teenager standing on a corner as if he were waiting for someone.
  • Aug. 20 – A Clintonville man on Golf Club Road reported his Amazon package was stolen.
  • Aug. 20 – Cottage Garden Farm in Waupaca reported one of their employees was being harassed by a former employee.
  • Aug. 20 – A cell phone caller reported a white drone was flying below tree level around her house.
  • Aug. 20 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway.
  • Aug. 20 – A Manawa man on State Highway 22-110 reported a grey truck and a black car moved his cattle and also hooked up a hose to his water tank. There was no explanation for this.
  • Aug. 20 – A female caller reported her neighbor records them every time they are outside.
  • Aug. 20 – ACR Repo reported they would be repossessing a vehicle.
  • Aug. 20 – A Manawa caller on Symco Road reported two men approached her home and were knocking on all of the doors and peeking in the windows.
  • Aug. 20 – A Marion caller on Seventh street reported a loud white Ford Escort drove onto his property and tore up his yard. The car took off towards Clintonville.
  • Aug. 21 – An Appleton man reported he had his land surveyed and the surveyor marked the lies with stakes. The neighbor moved the stakes.
  • Aug. 21 – A male was discovered dead when Secura Insurance reported they had not heard from a remote work-for-home employee. This was unusual. The man lived alone and the day before he was slurring his words in a meeting.
  • Aug. 21 – An Iola woman on State Highway 49 reported her Husky got out this morning and the dog was chasing the neighbor’s chickens. The neighbor shot her dog.
  • Aug. 21 – A Manawa woman on River Road reported a tractor tipped over a person was underneath the tractor.
  • Aug. 21 – A Clintonville woman on Reinke Road reported a female came to her door trying to sell her cleaning supplies for a nonprofit. The caller suspected she was involved in a human trafficking situation.
  • Aug. 21 – A Clintonville man on Neitzke Road reported a female was laying in the ditch and screaming at a male to pick her up and put her in a door-less Jeep.
  • Aug. 22 – A Waupaca man on Berkshire Lane reported a neighbor said he was going to kill everyone in the neighborhood.
  • Aug. 22 – A Waupaca caller on Larson Road reported he took scrap to another person on Larson Road. The scrap buyer changed his mind about how much he was willing to pay for the scrap and did not give the scrap back. The scrap buyer attempted to hit the caller three times.
  • Aug. 22 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway.
  • Aug. 22 – A female caller requested a welfare check on an elderly woman walking towards Larry Road wearing pink pajamas.
  • Aug. 22 – Caller reported their mother sent a message saying she took a “whole bunch of Benadryl.”
  • Aug. 22 – A Waupaca woman on Larson Road locked a child in the vehicle. Her keys were inside, too.
  • Aug. 22 – ThedaCare in Waupaca reported a woman called them and said to call the cops. She would not say why and she refused to call 911. She sounded fearful.
  • Aug. 22 – An Iola woman on Keatings Lake Drive reported a suspicious white van.
  • Aug. 23 – A New London woman on Jennings Road reported political signs were damaged from a vehicle running them over.
  • Aug. 23 – Premier Community Bank in Waupaca reported a red Mustang tore out of the parking lot. The driver was not coherent and possibly intoxicated.
  • Aug. 23 – Kwik Trip on County Trunk QQ in Waupaca reported a man who came in to buy alcohol and seemed “off.”
  • Aug. 23 – A Waupaca man on Long Cove Drive reported people were waterskiing too close to other boats.
  • Aug. 23 – An unknown caller reported her boyfriend threatened her with a gun and threatened to call the police because she took her sink back.
  • Aug. 23 – A female caller reported a juvenile keeps trespassing on her property.
  • Aug. 23 – A Weyauwega man on Ann Street ran over a dog. He wanted help contacting the owners.
  • Aug. 23 – A New London caller on Stage Road reported people trespass on her property “day and night.” They shoot things into her house and there are weird smells.
  • Aug. 23 – A female reported she was going to kill herself. She was trying to get sober and went back to drinking.
  • Aug. 23 – Kwik Trip on Fulton Street in Waupaca reported a suspicious Nissan Pathfinder with busted-out windows and purple paint. The male driver was “on something” and “freaking out.”
  • Aug. 23 – A Waupaca woman on Pine Lane reported locking a child in a vehicle.
  • Aug. 24 – A Weyauwega woman on High Street reported a disorderly situation involving screaming and arguing.
  • Aug. 24 – An elderly woman reported she received a message on her phone to call 911 because there must be an emergency. The dispatcher asked if there was an emergency. The caller said no.
  • Aug. 24 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway.
  • Aug. 24 – The Store in Manawa reported gas drive-off valued at $25. The vehicle was a maroon Honda Pilot.
  • Aug. 24 – A Manawa woman on Howard Street reported an intoxicated man was walking and then fell into the ditch.
  • Aug. 24 – Wolf River Trips reported two intoxicated males left the campground in a black KIA. The two males were in a relationship and were beating each other.
  • Aug. 24 – A Fremont caller on Pines Road reported a fire with smoke coming out of her vents. There was a woman that would not leave the house.
  • Aug. 24 – A Weyauwega woman on Pine Street reported her boyfriend choked her.
  • Aug. 25 – A Waupaca caller on Woodland Circle reported her neighbors were yelling so loud they woke her up.
  • Aug. 25 – Gold Cross Ambulance responded to a call from a man who said his girlfriend was intoxicated and lost consciousness.
  • Aug. 25 – Kwik Trip on Fulton Street reported a man was passed out in his vehicle.
  • Aug. 25 – A Waupaca caller on State Street reported that someone was trying to get into her vehicle.
  • Aug. 25 – Weyauwega Travel Plaza reported a gas drive-off that appeared to be intentional.
  • Aug. 25 – A Waupaca caller on County Trunk QQ reported his trailer was missing from his storage unit.
  • Aug. 25 – A caller reported a 43-year-old woman took arsenic and mercury and was now vomiting.
  • Aug. 25 – A Waupaca caller on Main Street reported her cable box was missing.
  • There were 10 deer-related calls during this period. Six controlled burns were called in. The water patrol stopped 13 boats. An anonymous caller reported cows in the road. An anonymous caller reported a neglected dog that “lives in his feces.” Thedacare Waupaca reported a person was bitten by a large dog— with an unknown owner. A deputy helped a turtle cross the road.
