Amherst Falcons volleyball team traveled to Iola-Scandinavia on October 14 for a shot at winning the Central Wisconsin-East title.
Amherst took the early 12-6 lead in the opening set, and a kill by Lexi Wierzba made the score 21-16.
The Thunderbirds responded as they tied the set 21-21, and took the lead with an ace.
Amherst regained the lead before closing out the first set 25-22.
In the second set, Iola-Scandinavia took a 14-8 lead and stayed in control, extending their advantage to 20-12.
Amherst started to chip away at the Iola lead as they tied the set at 22-22.
Amherst would take the lead and finish the second set 25-23.
In the third set, Amherst took an early lead as they went up 12-2. The Falcons kept their foot on the gas as they went up 22-7, and closed out the third set and match 25-7.
