Allen David Blum was born on April 28, 1938 in Milwaukee as the son of the late David and Goldie (Meyer) Blum. They moved to Clintonville approximately 10 years later where he attended St. Martin Lutheran School and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1956. Allen served in the Army National Guard for 18 months, then he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps; serving 3 years from June of 1957 to June of 1960. Shortly after his return to Clintonville he met a lovely young beautician; Sharon A. Smith (the love of his life). On January 14, 1961 they were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Clintonville. The couple were blessed with 3 lovely children; Todd, Wendy, & Jodi. Allen was employed for approximately 5 years at Quality Plumbing & Heating in Clintonville, then he became a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 400 in Appleton where he remained a member up until his passing. Allen was a lifelong member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville where he served on the Board of Elders and approximately 15 years on the Cemetery Board. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. After his retirement in 1960, Allen enjoyed spending a few hours a day in the summer fishing for perch and bluegills on the Clintonville Pond. There was always fish and venison in the freezer. Allen also was always up for a good game of Scrabble with Sharon, but seldom won a game.
