Bond modified for suspect in multi-county chase

PORTAGE COUNTY — Strahan Stocks, 26, is facing nine felony charges in relation to a multi-county chase that occurred on May 14.
Stocks is alleged to have led officers on a high speed chase, reaching speeds near 100 miles per hour, through Portage and Waupaca counties. While reportedly intoxicated, Stocks began the pursuit in Plover when he fled from an attempted traffic stop. The pursuit ultimately ended in Waupaca County after officers deployed spike strips on Stocks’ vehicle.
On May 15, a cash bond was set at $1 million for Stocks in Portage County court. However, on June 26 the cash bond was amended from $1 million to $25,000, with an additional $25,000 signature bond added. According to court records, Stocks signature bond was signed on June 29 and the cash bond was signed on June 30. Stocks’ bond conditions state he is not allowed to drive “period, none whatsoever,” not to possess or consume alcohol or be on the premises where alcohol is served or sold as its primary business, and to report to Portage County Justice Programs and comply with the requirements.
In relation to the May 14 pursuit, Stocks is facing four counts of felony bail jumping, OWI (4th offense), two counts of fleeing or eluding an officer, second degree recklessly endangering safety, and first degree recklessly endangering safety.
He is expected back in Portage County court on July 16 for an arraignment hearing regarding the May 14 pursuit.
According to court records, Stocks has several open cases in Waupaca and Portage counties dating back to Aug. 2025. A majority of Stocks open cases involve traffic and driving related charges, however, he is facing a felony charge of strangulation in Waupaca County. On April 27, Stocks plead not guilty to battery, strangulation, disorderly conduct, two counts of felony bail jumping, and one count of misdemeanor bail jumping.
