Boutique brings country living to downtown

Posted

WAUPACA – The grand opening of a new boutique in downtown Waupaca welcomed an established business to a new location.
Country Chic Boutique, previously of Scandinavia, has moved into the bank old bank building in downtown Waupaca, 122 South Main Street.
Sydney Brozik opened Country Chic Boutique in June of 2019 and when an opportunity to grow into a larger space presented itself, Brozik made sure to jump on it.
Brozik said she has always had a strong entrepreneurial spirit, with making crafts to sell or bake sales, to staging her family garage sales and being in charge of taking money.
Brozik made the decision to start exploring her options for a new space to continue to grow her business when the building Brozik was occupying in Scandinavia went up for sale.

She said she saw an advertisement from Shellady Udoni on Facebook that a space in the historic downtown building was open for lease.
“I just fell in love with the old architecture of the building, the fun vault, the high ceilings,” Brozik said. “The fact that is was bigger from what we were used to, it just seemed like the perfect opportunity.”
Brozik said leaving her space in Scandinavia that she has occupied for over seven years was bittersweet especially in a community that is so tight knit.
Despite leaving Scandinavia she said many of her customers have followed her to the new store, which she said has been so great to see.
The store features a country western vibe, with a tagline of “boots to barbeque.”
Country Chic Boutique focuses on women’s clothing and accessories, but there are also gift items and home décor, as well as some gift items for men including wallets and barbeque sauces.
With boots making their way back into the store soon as summer gets closer, all in all the store features a variety of items for those that love the classy, country style.
Brozik said she hopes to help other entrepreneurs grow their business by hosting them at the new storefront; she recently had On the Rocks 715 LLC serving up mocktails and charcuterie as well as Wild Roots Hair Co. installing hair feathers.
Brozik said she is eager to host as many small businesses as she can to help fellow entrepreneurs in her community.
Her grand opening was Feb. 27.
“I didn’t even have the words after [that] weekend to explain how we were all feeling, staff included,” Brozik said. “We all just kind of looked at each other and we were like, ‘holy cow that was really cool.’”
Brozik said the outpouring of love she received from the Waupaca community was humbling and she is very excited for the future of Country Chic Boutique and her future in Waupaca.
