Waupaca County sheriff’s report Aug. 12-15

  • Aug. 12 – A female caller reported that on Friday, Aug. 9 she witnessed a pickup truck with extra bright lights parked outside her home. She heard four gunshots, possibly from a pistol. The next morning she looked for empty cases but did not find any.
  • Aug. 12 – A state-certified contractor stopped at the sheriff’s office to request a welfare check on a resident whose irrational behavior is linked to a mold issue.
  • Aug. 12 – A Manawa man on Garrity Road reported a small gray car fully engulfed in flames. He did not see anyone in the car.
  • Aug. 12 – A Clintonville man on State Highway 45 reported she was being harassed by a man with whom she has a verbal living arrangement. “Don’t ever cross me—you’ll be sorry,” he said.
  • Aug. 12 – A Waupaca man on Pryse Drive reported the theft of prescription medications from his home.
  • Aug. 12 –A Clintonville woman on Neitzke Road reported a verbal disturbance where a husband locked his wife out of the house.
  • Aug. 13 – A Fond Du Lac man reported his neighbor was trespassing on his hunting property.
  • Aug. 13 – A Milwaukee woman reported she could see two men and three children trespassing on her property via a camera.
  • Aug. 13 –A male caller reported there was a six-foot piece of plastic in the ditch that looked like there was something inside. There was a circle on the road that looked like blood.
  • Aug. 13 – A Waupaca woman on State Highway 22 reported a juvenile called her who was home alone. The juvenile said there was a vehicle in the driveway and the juvenile was instructed to lock the door and not open it for strangers.
  • Aug. 13 – A Clintonville woman on Lakeshore Road requested a welfare check on a neighbor she had not seen for three days.
  • Aug. 13 – A Manawa man on Nicolai Road reported his furnace, Polaris Indy 500 snowmobile and Kawasaki dirt bike were missing from his shed.
  • Aug. 13 – A Waupaca man on Larson Road reported noisy neighbors riding four wheelers.
  • Aug. 13 – A female caller reported a male, about 45 years old, was laying in the ditch. She asked if he was OK. He said yes.
  • Aug. 13 – ThedaCare in Appleton reported a patient was making comments the he was better off dead. He said he would take a large dose of insulin to end his life.
  • Aug. 13 – An Ogdensburg woman reported seeing a person put a Slow Down sign in the middle of the road and then run off into a field.
  • Aug. 13 – A Scandinavia woman on Main Street reported she and her husband were not getting along.
  • Aug. 13 – A Weyauwega woman on Wisconsin Street reported that children on scooters were going through the neighborhood and knocking on doors.
  • Aug. 13 – A Waupaca woman on County Trunk E reported she heard cars driving by very slowly and then circling back. She said she also heard the voice of a man in her basement.
  • Aug. 14 – A Waupaca woman on Larson Road reported her neighbor harasses her and calls law enforcement on her, most recently it was about a property line dispute.
  • Aug. 14 – A woman from Elm Park, Illinois, reported there was a pontoon moored to her dock. There was not supposed to be anyone there. She wanted a call back and demanded to know what is going on.
  • Aug. 14 – A Fremont man on County Trunk W reported the theft of a 12-foot kayak.
  • Aug. 14 – A Waupaca woman on Larson Road reported a case of neglected dogs and a mule.
  • Aug. 14 – A New London man on County Trunk O reported his neighbors have been putting vehicles and brush over the property line.
  • Aug. 14 – A Weyauwega man on Main Street reported a woman was being physical with his mother.
  • Aug. 14 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway.
  • Aug. 15 – A Waupaca woman on Evans Street reported a man walks down the roadway and runs at cars. If a driver slows down, the man will lie on the car and pull at the door handle.
  • Aug. 15 – An unknown caller reported smoke coming from trees near a farm area south of County Trunk EE.
  • Aug. 15 – A Waupaca woman on County Trunk QQ reported a man was harassing her and putting things on her door.
  • Aug. 15 – A Waupaca woman on County Trunk EE reported a tree fell atop a vehicle.
  • Aug. 15 – An unknown caller reported an intoxicated male and female were trying to drive off in a Ford truck. They fell in the parking lot. The caller said they tried to get the keys but the couple would not give them up.
  • Aug. 15 – A female caller reported her husband was verbally aggressive with her. She feared for her safety and the safety of her animals.
  • Aug. 15 – A Clintonville woman on Main Street reported a man who had been drinking choked her and locked her out of the house.
  • There were six deer-auto collisions during this period. Five controlled burns were called in. The water patrol stopped two boats. An Ogdensburg woman reported a loose horse in the road.
