Car Show at New London's Hatten Park

Gary Sands shows off his custom “Carnival Car” inside Hatten Park on Sunday, June 7, during the annual New London Car Show and Swap Meet. The customized 1917 Ford features a vintage bumper car at its front end, a Scrambler amusement ride seat in the middle, and a Ferris wheel seat in the back. Sands installed a Buick 455 motor in the car after purchasing it from a previous owner several years ago. “The guy had a heck of an imagination,” Sands said. The annual exhibition is organized by the Wolf River Classic Chevy Club in partnership with the New London Lions Club, drawing unique collector vehicles from across the region.. John Faucher Photo
