"We are always family and friends" Cary Ogden's final words written to us all in his living will documents.
Cary James Ogden, age 60, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Theda Care Medical Center in Waupaca. He was born on May 18, 1966 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Victor Ogden and Joannie Kringel. He graduated in 1984 from Kimberly High School. Cary attended University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh where he earned a Bachelor of Social Work. At UWO, he met Michael and Lori (Tegelman) Jungers and a 40 year friendship was formed. On June 1, 1989, Cary started his job with Waupaca County as a Community Support Social Worker. Cary took great pride in helping his clients. He would be his client's greatest support when they didn't always have it. Cary retired from Waupaca County in June 2023.
On December 15, 1995, Cary married Sarah Eich and they shared 30 ½ years of marriage. Their two children, Joseph and Caroline, were Cary's greatest accomplishments. And he loved his role as Grandpa/Papa to Stella, Sawyer, and Hudson.
Fall and hunting season was Cary's favorite time of the year. Cary loved to grouse hunt with his dogs at Camp 510 and Woodtick Deer Camp was considered a 10 day must attend event. Cary loved the getting ready to get ready ritual of Camp.
Cary is survived by his wife, Sarah. Their son Joseph (Nina) grandchildren Stella, Sawyer, and Hudson. Their daughter Caroline (Joshua Carlson). His mother, Joannie Lutz, His father Victor (Sandie) Ogden, twin brother Craig Ogden, and younger brother, Andy Ogden. Sisters-In-Law Stephanie Eich (Glen Hollatz), Rachel and Rod Gullixon. Nieces Sophia and Ella Gullixon. Special Friends Michael & Lori Jungers, Blaine & Holly Erdman, Sarabeth & Brett Stielow, Brian & Heather LaFriniere, Mark & Ann Schmidt, plus the rest of the Camp 510 and The Woodtick Hunting Crews. Cary is further survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Cary was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Nancy Peissig and his maternal grandparents, John & Clarice Kringel.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 3 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Holly Funeral Home - Waupaca. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 3 PM at the funeral home with Deacon Jim Trzinski, Presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made to Kathy's House on the Froedtert Hospital Campus Waukesha. Cary and Sarah spent many nights there while Cary was receiving his treatments. And to Theda Care Hospice, Hopes, and Dream who made Cary's final days peaceful and calm. We are eternally grateful for everyone's thoughts, guidance, and prayers over the last 3 ½ years.
