Disaster Recovery Center opens

NEW LONDON –Waupaca County Emergency Management, Outagamie County Emergency Management, Winnebago County Emergency Management in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) announced the opening of a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) to assist individuals and businesses affected by the spring flooding disaster.
It officially opened Monday, July 20. It is located at the New London Public Museum on 406 S. Pearl Street. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Apply online first
Residents and businesses are strongly encouraged to apply for FEMA disaster assistance online before visiting the Disaster Recovery Center, if they are able. Applying online is often the fastest way to begin the recovery process and allows FEMA to start reviewing applications immediately.
Applicants can register by:

• Calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362
• Using the FEMA Mobile App

How the center can help
After submitting an application, or if you need assistance getting started, the Disaster Recovery Center provides one-on-one support from recovery specialists.

• Help complete FEMA applications
• Answer questions about FEMA Individual Assistance
• Provide application status updates
• Explain eligibility and required documentation
• Connect applicants with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) representatives
• Provide information about additional state, local, and voluntary recovery resources

What to bring
• Government-issued identification
• Insurance information
• Photos of disaster-related damage

• Repair estimates or receipts, if available
• Banking information for direct deposit, if applicable
