Father caught in flagrante delicto

NEW LONDON – Nelson Geovanni Nunez-Gutierrez, 40, has been charged with cause of mental harm to a child and two counts of physical abuse of a child—intentionally cause bodily harm.
The case started on Oct. 8, 2025, when Officer Ewing, the school resource officer in the New London School District, got a request from a counselor to discuss a situation. He was joined by Staff Sergeant Seavecki.
The counselor said that a female high school student told her that she woke up to screaming at 3 a.m. and she discovered her naked father, Nunez-Gutierrez, with a naked woman she did not know. Her father gave her a phone and told her delete some pictures and to record the deranged scene because the nude woman was blackmailing him and accusing him of rape.
She also said her father hit her on the arm with a broken fan. In a later interview with her brother, they learned he was struck on the head with the broken fan. The brother was also bitten in the bicep area. He said his hair was pulled and his father struck him four times with a closed fist.
