NEW LONDON - The office that houses the New London Press Star, Buyers’ Guide, Clintonville Tribune-Gazette and Shoppers’ Guide at 301 S. Pearl Street, will close as of Nov. 17.
Dave Wood, director of Operations and Distribution for Multi-Media Channels LLC, said closing the office would not disrupt delivery of the papers. The Press Star, Buyers’ Guide, Tribune Gazette and Shoppers’ Guide will continue publication each week as usual.
Direct mail distribution and rack delivery will continue, with the addition of three outside drive-up Buyers’ Guide and Shoppers’ Guide boxes at 1205 W. Wolf River Avenue (concession stand at NL boat landing). Non-time sensitive correspondence directed to specific MMC staff can also be dropped off inside to the attendant seven days per week from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“MMC decided to close the office after evaluating all of our office and warehouse space in Waupaca County,” Wood said. “Covid-19 impacted how much office space was needed as many employees remained working from home. Advances in technology has allowed for this work force flexibility for employees,” he added.
“We thank the New London community for their long-standing support of our physical office space and look forward to continuing to serve you through our remaining channels.”
MMC’s Waupaca office will continue to serve readers and walk-in clients, offering services such as placing classified advertisements, submitting payments, and discussing subscription or delivery needs. The office is located at 970 Furman Drive, Waupaca and the mailing address is PO Box 408, Waupaca, WI 54981.
MMC donated bound copies of past Press Star issues to the New London Heritage Historical Society. Bound volumes of the Tribune Gazette can be found at the Clintonville Public Library and bound copies of past Shoppers’ Guides were moved to the Clintonville History House Museum in 2022.
