Parking lot projects scheduled at high school

Posted

NEW LONDON – The New London High School facility will have sealcoating, patching, and striping done to needed areas of its parking lots and walking areas at a cost of $46,330.
The New London Board of Education approved awarding the contract for the work to Asphalt Seal and Repair for $46,330, which was the lowest bid. Badgerland Sealing also submitted a bid for $47,489.
Joe Marquardt, SDNL business services director, reminded the board that about a year ago, it was presented with an array of projects to be completed throughout the district. At that time, the district did not have the “budget capacity” to complete the sealcoating, patching, and striping project throughout the entire high school facility. Since that time, Marquardt said the district requested proposals for the sealcoating, patching, and striping project at the high school in the areas that needed to be done.
The presented proposal included work that would be completed during the summer months and would include the entire high school facility.
According to the Topic Summary Sheet in the board packet, this type of project is budgeted to be completed every 4-5 years. The last two times the high school was seal coated was in 2016 and 2020.
