Pumpkins to flood downtown

Posted

WAUPACA – Downtown Waupaca will once again be filled with pumpkins, costumes, and family fun this October as two popular seasonal traditions return: Pumpkin Time on Main and Halloween on Main Street.
Pumpkin Time on Main runs from Oct. 23 through Nov. 5 featuring more than 200 hand-carved pumpkins displayed around the city square and throughout downtown. For many years, community member Jim Miller, along with his family and friends, has shared his pumpkin artistry with Waupaca. What began as a rural neighborhood tradition now brightens downtown for all to enjoy.
Visitors are encouraged to support the displays by making donations. Monetary donations will help benefit the Shop with a Cop program. Non-perishable food items will also be collected for the Waupaca Area Food Pantry.
On Friday, Oct. 24, from 4–6 p.m., several blocks of Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for the annual Halloween on Main Street Event, a lively community celebration featuring trick-or-treating with downtown businesses, live music, family activities, fire dancers, touch-a-truck, a petting zoo, food vendors and more.
For more details about Halloween on Main, visit www.WaupacaChamber.com or contact the Waupaca Area Parks and Recreation Department at (715) 258-4435.
