Mary Ann Rades, age 82, of Pella passed away on Friday October 10, 2025, in Shawano after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mary was born on May 24, 1943, in Clintonville to the late Alfred and Frances (Niemuth) Suehring. On December 22, 1962, she was united in marriage to Duane Rades at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The couple spent a wonderful 41 years together before Duane’s passing in 2004. Mary worked as a service representative for Johnson Insurance for several years. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening her flowers and vegetables. Mary was known as the cream puff lady for many years. She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella. Mary was the organist for many churches her entire life. She had a love of music, volunteering, charity work and her family. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; she will be deeply missed.
Mary is survived by her son, Kevin (Debra) Rades; son-in-law, Mark Stehula; grandchildren, Paul (Alicia) Rades, Beth (Jerot) Ritter, Mitchell Stehula and Megan Stehula; great-grandchildren, Bryce Rades and Claire Rades; brother-in-law, Gary Thomack; and sister-in-law, Frances (Dennis) Johnson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Duane; daughter, Susan Stehula; sister, Diane Thomack; and parents, Alfred and Frances Suehring.
A memorial service for Mary will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday October 22, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella with Pastor Ryan Halmstad officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at the church cemetery.
