Stevens Point Police Report

• October 4 – A noise complaint was made on College Avenue. Upon officer arrival, a party was ending and party goers were leaving for the night.
• October 4 – A vehicle was pulled over for driving against traffic on First Street. An officer made contact with the driver, and while speaking the officer noted a strong odor of marijuana. The driver stated the vehicle was not his and he was only using it to drive back to where he had been staying.
• October 4 – A man threw a rock through the front door and a window of Celebration Church on Industrial Park Road. He was charged with criminal damage to religious property and felony bail jumping.
• October 4 – A welfare check was conducted on a male on West Clark Street who was seen sitting on a curb and swaying back and forth, looking like he may pass out.
• October 4 – A magnetic Dominoes Pizza topper was stolen from Dominoes Pizza on Church Street. The suspect was seen fleeing on foot with the magnetic topper.
• October 5 – Officers responded to Portage Street for a disturbance between a male and female. The male was seen striking the female in the face by the witness. The male was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
• October 5 – Officers responded to Main Street and Second Street for a two-vehicle crash where the driver of one of the vehicles was attempting to leave the scene.
• October 5 – An officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. A pursuit ensued and the vehicle came to a stop at the driver’s residence. The driver was arrested for OWI 2nd offense and received multiple citations.
• October 5 – After a vehicle ran two stop lights on Division Street, a driver was arrested for OWI 1st offense.
• October 5 – A man reported his wallet stolen from the area of Church Street.
• October 6 – Kwik Trip staff on Stanley Street requested a man to leave. While talking with the man, he stated he spent all his money on a TV from Walmart and could not pay for a place to stay. Kwik Trip staff changed their mind and said the main could stay for a few hours.
• October 6 – An officer was dispatched to Washington Elementary School for a disturbance. Contact was made with the child, the child’s mother and school staff. The mom was able to secure the child in the car with help from a grandparent.
• October 6 – A caller stated their daughter was being threatened by a 14-year-old female and a 16-year-old male from school.
• October 7 – A disturbance between a male and a female resulted in charges being referred to the District Attorney’s office.
• October 7 – A student at Ben Franklin Junior High School left a pencil bag in the bathroom. When staff members looked in the bag to see who it belonged to, they located two vaping devices, one of which contained THC. The student was cited for possession.
• October 7 – An officer stopped a man after a caller reported he had been driving recklessly and tailgating. The officer made contact with the man who stated he was in a hurry to get to the hospital as his wife was having a procedure done.
• October 7 – Two males and a female went to Taco Bell on Division Street after their order had been wrong. They produced an old receipt, but became upset when the staff wouldn’t honor the old receipt. The males and female began yelling at Taco Bell staff and called the employees racist.
• October 8 – An officer was dispatched to Illinois Avenue for a report of property crime. Dispatch advised that two vehicles had their tires slashed.
• October 9 – A caller stated that while at Tsunami Car Wash in Plover was asked to donate $5 for children with cancer. She agreed to the donation, but stated she was then billed $49. The officer advised she should attempt to get a refund and if unable to do so, then contact the Plover Police Department.
• October 9 – A noise complaint was made of trucks revving their engines in the parking lot of Rocky Rococo. Several vehicles were leaving upon officer arrival, but the officer talked to the one remaining truck driver. The officer advised the 17-year-old driver of the ongoing loitering issues and told him that he and his friends will be cited if it continues.
• October 9 – A woman reported her ex-boyfriend had run off with their dog after breaking up. She stated they had been broken up for three months and then decided to meet up in Stevens Point. She went to the bathroom and when she came back, the ex-boyfriend and the dog were gone.
• October 9 – Officers were dispatched to a report of a recently evicted individual who broke back into the residence on Old Wausau Road. The SWAT team was paged out due to the suspect stating they had a gun. The suspect was eventually taken into custody.
• October 9 – Officers were notified of an attempted break in to a vehicle on Northpoint Drive. Officers made contact with the female suspect who became disorderly with officers. The female was arrested for disorderly conduct.
• October 10 – An officer was dispatched to Plover Street for a noise complaint. While attempting to make contact with the suspect, threats of a firearm were made.
