Stevens Point Police Report

• January 16 – A student at PJ Jacobs Junior High School was issued a citation for theft (value up to $15).
• January 16 – The school district of Stevens Point requested a 32-year-old man to be trespassed from Ben Franklin Junior High School.
• January 16 – A caller reported vehicles performing donuts in the parking lot of Dunham Sports.
• January 16 – A man was arrested near Division Street and Academy Avenue for OWI 1st Offense, causing injury.
• January 17 – A report detailed a piece of rebar sticking out of the snow at Kash Park. The rebar was covered with a traffic cone.
• January 17 – Officers were dispatched to investigate reported suspicious activity in the area of Heffron Street. The vehicle of concern was located and it was learned the vehicle was licensed as vacuum sellers.
• January 17 - Two women were reported to be shoplifting from Target. They were charged and trespassed.
• January 17 – A vehicle fled from officers after attempting a traffic stop for driving without lights and unnecessary acceleration. The vehicle crashed and the occupants fled, but were then located hiding a few blocks away. The driver was arrested for OWI 2nd Offense, Hit and Run – Causing Injury, Flee/Eluding Officer – Causing Injury, Operating While Revoked, Failure to Install IID, Felon in Posession of Firearm, and Probation Hold. The passenger was transported by ambulance for a back injury.
• January 18 – A hit and run occurred where a fire hydrant was struck on Marthas Lane.
• January 18 – A propane tank was reported stolen from a Washington Avenue address.
• January 19 – A caller wished to report his vehicle as stolen, but was informed it could not be listed as stolen as the other party had consent to drive the vehicle.
• January 20 – A caller reported a check was stolen from their mailbox at a Hunter Oaks Drive address.
• January 20 – A caller reported a vehicle was taking pictures of his house on Mary Ann Court.
• January 21 – An uncooperative juvenile was reported from McKinley Elementary School.
• January 21 – A vehicle slid into a snowbank on Wadleigh Street. The driver was arrested for OWI 2nd Offense.
• January 22 – Retail theft was reported to have occurred at Save A Lot Foods on Church Street.
• January 22 – A crash occurred between a semi truck and a sedan near Church Street.
• January 22 – A hit and run was reported between a vehicle and a mail truck.
• January 23 – A witness reported seeing a vehicle back into a light pole at the intersection of Wisconsin Street and Division Street. The witness obtained the vehicle’s license plate number. Officer’s went to the registered owner’s residence and viewed a vehicle with damage to the driver’s side rear, matching the damage described by the witness. Officers attempted contact, but got no answer.
• January 23 – A vehicle was reported stolen from a Division Street address.
• January 23 – A woman lent her vehicle to her nephew. The nephew gave his girlfriend permission to take the vehicle to a gas station on Jan. 22. The girlfriend is noted to have warrants. She had allegedly not yet returned with the vehicle as of Jan. 23.
• January 23 – An individual reported she was sent messages by a scammer pretending to be her priest.
• January 24 – Officers responded to an Illinois Avenue address for a report of a disturbance. One male was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
• January 25 – A disturbance between a man and a woman at a Minnesota Avenue residence led to the arrest of the man for Disorderly Conduct and Battery with domestic enhancers.
• January 25 – A car was reported to be in a ditch near Harmony Lane and Indiana Avenue. The vehicle was located, but nobody was inside. The female driver was later located arrested for OWI 1st Offense.
• January 25 – A caller reported a sexual assault which occurred somewhere in the City of Stevens Point in a vehicle. Ultimately, a charge of 4th Degree Sexual Assault was referred against a male to the Portage County District Attorney’s Officer.
• January 25 – A caller reported a vehicle where occupants were allegedly smoking marijuana at Kwik Trip on Maria Drive. The driver was cited for Possession of Marijuana and a charge referred for Possession of Hallucinogenic Drugs.
• January 26 – Officers responded to Rookies Sports Pub for a disturbance. One man was cited for Disorderly Conduct and one man was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
