• May 8 – An 18-year-old man was driving on West Zinda Drive at a high rate of speed. He then ended up in a drainage ditch when attempting to turn eastbound onto West Mapleridge Drive. He agreed to fix the damaged grass in lieu of a citation.
• May 8 – A man reported he had left his e-bike chained up outside for a month outside the BP Gas Station on Heffron and Church Street. He reported it was now missing.
• May 8 – A group of 18 to 20-year-olds were again warned about loitering in the parking lot by Five Below and Dunham’s Sporting Goods.
• May 8 – A 36-year-old man was arrested for OWI 1st Offense following a vehicle crash on Michigan Avenue.
• May 9 – A 20-year-old man was arrested after on Frontenac Avenue after attempting to flee officers from a traffic stop.
• May 9 – A 23-year-old man was arrested for OWI 1st Offense after driving the wrong direction on Franklin Street.
• May 9 – A man reported $1500 was stolen from the center console of his truck on Water Street.
• May 9 – A fence was on fire on Ellis Street after an individual threw a cardboard box on a fire pit, that was then left unattended.
• May 9 – A woman reported an Apple Airtag had been attached to her car without her knowledge. She believed it to be done by her soon to be ex-husband, who she alleged may be jealous after seeing her with another man. The woman played the “find my Airtag” sound for the officer, who reported hearing it dinging from underneath the vehicle. The woman stated she would have her children help her locate the tracking device. The woman found the device on May 11, her soon-to-be ex-husband was then served with a stalking letter.
• May 9 – A man explained he met a woman on a dating app. The woman allegedly sent a nude photograph of herself, so the man reciprocated the action and sent a nude photograph of himself. The woman then asked him to bring her a $25 gift card to her Stevens Point home. The man did not find the woman at the provided address, but a family.
• May 9 – A 77-year-old man was found deceased in his Franklin Street residence, officers noted there was nothing suspicious about his death.
• May 10 - An officer observed two males fighting in front of Graffiti’s Bar and Grill. Both males were issued citations for disorderly conduct.
• May 10 – A man was arrested on Maria Drive for domestic disorderly conduct.
• May 11 – A man reported medications had been stolen from his vehicle, which could have occurred over the course of multiple days at multiple locations.
• May 11 – A 26-year-old man was talking to an escort service online and paid them $250 after they threatened to go to his out-of-state home and “cause issues.” The officer informed the man that this was most likely a scam and to block the phone number.
• May 12 – A 41-year-old man was swearing at shopper at Festival Foods and yelling in the store. He was removed from the property and warned about disorderly conduct.
• May 12 – A 48-year-old woman was using a dumpster of a West River Drive business. She was advised to move along, and then went to a nearby driveway of a house under construction. She was then advised to move along again. She stated she had only stopped to cry and would move again.
• May 12 – A 63-year-old woman reported people were near her Maria Drive window “talking about sexual things.” Officers could not see anyone upon arrival.
• May 13 – Two men were sitting on a bench in The Square with a pack of beer. One of the men had a beer opened and received a warning for open alcohol beverages.
• May 13 – A 71-year-old woman reported she was out $35,000 in a fraud complaint.
• May 13 – A 26-year-old man admitted to stealing money from O’Reilly Auto Parts.
• May 13 – Mail was reported to be stolen from Point Plowing on Hoover Road. Customers had mailed in checks for payment, but the checks were cashed in Minnesota for more than they had been written out for.
• May 13 – A man was allowed to stay at the Salvation Army overnight, however he made popcorn when he was supposed to be sleeping. He burnt the popcorn and was then kicked out.
• May 14 – A Ben Franklin Junior High School student was caught with a vape at school.
• May 14 – A Ben Franklin Junior High School student swung his book bag at another student, striking him in the face. The student sustained injuries.
• May 14 – A caller reported an individual had set an animal trap along the Green Circle Trail near West River View Avenue and West River Drive. The information was passed along to the DNR for investigation.
• May 14 – Officers were dispatched to a park for a male stalking a female. This has allegedly been going on for an extended period of time, however the female has been in contact with the man and has not stated she wishes to be left alone. Officers informed her of the next steps.
• May 14 – A man, who had violated his probation, was attempting to forcefully enter a residence on Mary Street. He was arrested.
• May 15 – A homeless man was found sleeping on a dock at Grant Park. He stated finding residency was not a priority and declined services offered by the officer.
• May 15 – Two homeless women were camping by a Water Street building. They stated they are not seeking residency and waiting for the homeless shelter to open. Both were moved along and trespassed.
