• May 22 – A homeless man was found downtown with a possible stolen bike.
• May 22 – A homeless woman was warned for an unlicensed bike and leaving clothing items on the sidewalk in front of the library.
• May 22 – A physical altercation at Parker Johns BBQ and Pizza led to the arrest of two individuals. Victims sustained minor injuries.
• May 22 – A 19-year-old man requested officers come to his Michigan Avenue residence to ask his ex-girlfriend to leave.
• May 22 – A woman was highly intoxicated and found passed out near the Band Shell.
• May 23 – Officers observed an altercation erupt outside of Icon on Main Street. The cause of the altercation was due to relationship issues. Officers informed everyone to go home and talk about it in the morning.
• May 23 – A 26-year-old woman was issued a citation for urinating the library’s parking lot.
• May 23 – A 28-year-old man was arrested after officers witnessed a physical altercation near the intersection of Third and Main Street.
• May 23 – An officer met with two individuals who reported being harassed by their neighbor. They stated the neighbor would yell at them and call 911 on them consistently.
• May 23 – A multi-vehicle crash occurred in the area of Highway 10 East and I-39. One of the vehicle occupants, wearing all black, fled the scene towards Hilltop Bar and Grill. Officers learned of the occupant’s address and went to his home residence. As officers approached the suspect’s address an individual matching the suspect’s description immediately fled on foot. Shortly after the pursuit began, the suspect was taken into custody.
• May 24 – A man was arrested after following two women around and throwing one of their purses into the sewer.
• May 24 – A call detailed someone had been flipping off a Flock camera, which led to a report being completed as the Flock camera had not been reading plates for several hours.
• May 24 – A female, who appeared intoxicated, was reported to be walking through yards and yelling profanities. Upon contact, the woman said she knew she shouldn’t be walking through yards and yelling.
• May 25 – A vehicle on West Clark Street overheated. Several drivers came to assist the woman with the broken car, helping her move the vehicle off of West Clark Street so she could continue working on it outside of a higher traffic area.
• May 26 – A 52-year-old man was warned about sleeping in the bus stop area. He stated he would move along and had been trying to get into the Salvation Army, but it had been full that night.
• May 26 – Officers were dispatched to McKinley Elementary School to assist staff in apprehending a juvenile that had left school grounds. Officers returned the juvenile home to their guardian. Multiple charges were referred for review from the District Attorney.
• May 26 – A 73-year-old man gave his phone number to an escort service, who began demanding money. Officers advised the man to not give any personal information, money, and to block the number.
• May 26 – A call about a man lying face down on the sidewalk on Division Street led to an officer making contact with the man who stated he was napping and would move along.
• May 26 – A caller reported a group of juveniles at Iverson Park were swearing and using racial slurs. The caller stated comments included remarks about “raping people” and something to the effect of “get down and suck my (expletive).” Officers made contact with the juvenile who stated he did say a racial slur, but stated he did not know anything about the sexual comments.
• May 26 – A 33-year-old man was found passed out in front of the ADRC. He was arrested on a probation hold and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
• May 27 – A man and women were found sleeping in the pavilion in Iverson Park. The woman was asleep on top of a beer can, but stated she had nothing to drink. Upon taking a breathalyzer test, she blew a .196. The man refused a breathalyzer test. The officer contacted probation for both individuals due to violations of probation rules.
• May 27 – A K9 positively indicated on a vehicle located on Matilda and Water Street. Officers then located methamphetamine paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
• May 27 – Two students at Ben Franklin Junior High School were seen acting suspicious between classes and passing something to each other in the hall. A student turned over a THC vape when questioned. The student received a citation.
• May 28 – A 16-year-old driver was caught driving at 47 miles per hour in a zone listed at 15 miles per hour. He was issued a warning for no proof of insurance and not carrying his driver’s license.
• May 28 – A caller reported ongoing harassment and stalking behavior by a man she previously dated.
• May 28 – A report was made about a man on Washington Avenue and Second Street going up to parked vehicles, checking to see if they’re locked, and going inside them. Officers located the suspect and stated no items were reported missing from any vehicles.
