Stevens Point Police Report

• July 2 – A fraud complaint was made at Pacelli High School.
• July 2 – A 13-year-old boy believed an 11-year-old girl had stolen his bike. A verbal argument between the two then turned physical.
• July 2 – A 20-year-old woman believed her ex-friend may have sent a man to her residence to scare her. She stated a man was walking around where her car was parked.
• July 3 – An individual attempted to gain access to carnival rides at Pfiffner Park before they were open.
• July 3 – A 42-year-old man failed to pay his bar tab at Partners Pub and was reportedly acting strange.
• July 3 – A 63-year-old woman let a 31-year-old homeless male into her vehicle to get out of the rain. He stated she gave the man $40 and he then began hitting the seat in her car. The woman stated she did not need law enforcement assistance but wanted the man checked on “because he was acting crazy.”
• July 3 – A 79-year-old man was found passed out in his vehicle with a bottle of vodka between his legs.
• July 3 – Officers spoke with juveniles who were jumping off the bridge and into the river. The juveniles were advised about why bridge jumping was a bad idea.
• July 3 – Two 19-year-olds and one 20-year-old were trespassing in the C.N. rail yard. All three individuals were issued citations.
• July 4 – A 29-year-old driver was arrested for OWI 2nd offense after driving the wrong way on West Clark Street.
• July 4 – A 21-year-old man gave his intoxicated 19-year-old friend a ride home. The 19-year-old punched his friend in the face.
• July 4 – A 78-year-old man was pulled over on Dixon Street for an equipment violation. Officers found a scratch on his hand from a disturbance earlier in the day. As a result, an 86-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct with a domestic enhancer.
• July 4 – A vehicle’s hood was reportedly damaged by an unknown suspect on Division Street.
• July 4 – A group of juveniles reportedly had a firearm at Pfiffner Park. The group of juveniles was located and the firearm was found, which was an airsoft pistol. The juveniles were issued citations and released to legal guardians.
• July 4 – A woman was reportedly yelling at people at Pfiffner Park about Donald Trump. Upon making contact with the woman, officers discovered she was intoxicated and argumentative. The same woman then twenty minutes later attempted to fight a homeowner on their Portage Street property.
• July 5 – The bouncer at The Outfit on Main Street advised officers of two women who were possibly high. He stated they left the bar about an hour prior.
• July 5 – A 16-year-old driver struck a park car while exiting the parking lot of Chase Bank on Main Street. After inspecting the damage, the driver began to leave the parking lot but was stopped by witnesses. Officers arrived to the scene and observed minimal damage on the parked car. The owner of the parked car did not want any action taken.
• July 5 – A 65-year-old man was seen dropping fireworks out of an apartment window, and almost hitting children with them. Officers made contact with the man, who denied having fireworks despite them being in plain view, in addition to a half empty liquor bottle. The man was deemed to be intoxicated and yelled at officers to leave. Officers cited the man for disorderly conduct, littering, and a fireworks violation.
• July 6 – A parent caught their child sneaking out of their residence and attempted to stop them. As a result, the child struck and bit the parent.
• July 6 – A 45-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and criminal damage to property.
• July 6 – A 40 year-old man was arrested for a probation violation. Upon searching the man after arrest, methamphetamine was found.
• July 6 – Officers were dispatched to the Stevens Point Library for a welfare check on an individual experiencing a mental health crisis.
• July 7 – A man requested officers remove a woman from his car.
• July 7 – A man entered a Prentice Street apartment to complete a work order. He found the apartment’s 94-year-old resident on the floor of her bedroom. She had fallen out of her bed and opened a wound from a recent surgery. She was transported my EMS.
• July 7 – A homeless camp was located and disposed of on West River Drive.
• July 7 – A gas leak was reported in the 3400 block of Church Street.
• July 7 – A 42-year-old man wanted officers to rub his feet as they were sore and had cuts. Officers advised the man he could do that himself. The man then expressed his frustrations about the police, drugs, corrupt people, and his family.
• July 7 – Officers were dispatched to Division Street for a report of someone waving a black and white pistol. Officers made contact with the suspected vehicle which contained four juveniles. The driver admitted to shooting his friends with a water gun. In addition to the water gun a BB gun was found. The officer advised the four juveniles about the seriousness of the situation.
• July 7 – A man was yelling and screaming near Black Bridge on West River Drive. He told some kids nearby that his $250 bike was stolen. The man was threatening to push people into the river. The man was later located and arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation hold.
• July 8 – Kwik Trip in Maria Drive reported retail theft.
• July 8 – A homeless woman was found storing her belongings inside a cart from Community Thrift Store. Officers returned the cart to the store.
• July 8 – A man made a report that his mother is harassing him and his children. He reported she makes constant calls, text messages, and shows up uninvited to his home.
• July 9 – A man, who had already been trespassed previously, was found sleeping on top of Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital. He was issued a citation for trespassing. However, the man did not take the citation with him when he left the property.
• July 9 – A 20-year-old woman reported theft by fraud. She stated she responded to an e-mail regarding a job at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She sent in money for job training.
• July 9 – A caller reported that a man was claiming to own Schmeekle Reserve while showing off a pocket knife. Officers were unable to locate the man.
• July 9 – A 31-year-old man was taken into custody for Wood County charges. While en route to Wood County, the man threatened Stevens Point police officers. The man gained an additional charge of threats to law enforcement.
