The Clintonville Truckers won a hard-fought game over the Manawa Wolves on Friday, Oct. 3, getting a homecoming victory.

Both teams were seeking their second victory of the season. The Truckers were looking for their first win in Northwoods conference play.

The Truckers got out to a fast start in the first quarter as they marched down the field on their opening drive of the game, and running back Lincoln Korth, who had 90 rushing yards in the game,  scored from six yards out to give his team an early 6-0 lead.

As the Wolves drove into Truckers territory, Korth made his presence felt on defense, coming up with his first of two interceptions to give his team back possession.

In the second quarter, Sam Wegener, who contributed to the offense as a quarterback, receiver (53 yards and runner (113 yards)  in the game, caught a 20-yard touchdown from Jaxson Baribeau, and Korth ran in the two-point conversion to make it a 14-0 lead.

In the third quarter, the Wolves gained momentum as Reed Schlueter intercepted a pass that led to a nine-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Braison Zielke to tight end Logan Zirbel to cut the Truckers lead to 14-6.

The remaining minutes of the game saw both defenses try not to budge as the Trucker forced a fumble, but they could not capitalize on it.

The Wolves made one last effort to tie up the game late in the fourth quarter, but a sack by Truckers Jadyn Ebert pushed them back. Wegener intercepted a deep pass to preserve the 14-6 win.
