The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds couldn’t keep up with the Amherst Falcons on the road on Dec. 2.
A tough offensive night proved too much to overcome as the Thunderbirds fell 55–41, struggling to find rhythm from the field while the Falcons rode a balanced scoring attack led by Lexi Wierzba’s 19 points and Ivy Boelk’s dominance on the boards as she had 14 rebounds to go along with 10 points for a double-double.
Braelyn Jueds led Iola in scoring with 10 points and posted 10 rebounds, but the Thunderbirds were only able to connect on 26.3% of their shots.
