Wolf River Art League seeks entries for art show

Posted

NEW LONDON — The Wolf River Art League is inviting professional, nonprofessional and student artists to enter the 56th annual Mid-Winter Art Show, scheduled for Feb. 14-15 at Crystal Falls, 1500 Handschke Drive.
The show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. This year’s exhibition features 2D, 3D and photography categories, with a professor from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay serving as the official judge.
Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded. In an educational opportunity for participants, the judge will conduct a live critique to share insights with artists on Saturday, Feb. 14, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Artists may offer their pieces for sale during the event. To accommodate event planning, organizers have set an earlier registration deadline this year; entry forms must be submitted by Jan. 23.
Participants may enter various media, including oil, acrylic, pastel, photography, fiber, ceramic and wood. To maintain the integrity of the exhibition, no artificial intelligence, pattern work or entries from previous shows will be accepted.

Registration details and entry forms are available at wolfriverart.org or at the New London Area Chamber of Commerce office, 420 N. Shawano St.
Registered artists are required to deliver their work to Crystal Falls on Friday, Feb. 13. All artwork must be framed and no wider than 4 feet to fit gallery walls. Unframed pieces must have finished edges, and all hanging art must utilize wire hangers.
The Mid-Winter Art Show serves as a primary fundraiser for the Wolf River Art League’s annual student scholarships. While admission is free to the public, donations are encouraged to support these local educational opportunities.
The venue is wheelchair accessible. Food and beverages will be available for purchase through Crystal Falls.
About the Wolf River Art League: The Wolf River Art League is dedicated to providing art opportunities to the New London community and supporting the next generation of creators through yearly student art scholarships.
