Twyla Alix, of Fremont, won grand champion on a wooden cooler. She is a member of Country Pride 4-H Club.
Trevor Crain, of New London, took the junior champion in Grade Holsteins with a winter yearling.
Tomi Bestul (left) and Tia Bestul, of Iola, won grand champion in Knitting and Clothing, respectively. The sisters are members of Peterson Mill 4-H Club.
Tomi Bestul, of Iola, won grand champion Any Other Breed at the 2015 Waupaca County Fair. Tiffany Bestul won reserve champion. They are members of Peterson Mill 4-H Club.

Noah Bratt, of Lebanon Cedars 4-H Club, New London, won reserve supreme champion of the Dairy Show at the 2015 Waupaca County Fair. The Brown Swiss 2 year old “Kao” was also grand champion and best uddered of the Colored Breeds.
Morgan Eilers, of Waupaca FFA, won grand champion Suffolk Sheep. She also won grand champion Southdown Sheep at the Waupaca County Fair.
Mikayla Wehrle, of New London, won grand champion Breeding Gilt. She also won grand champion in Free Form Ceramics, grand champion in Home Environment with a ceramic octopus bowl, grand champion Crossbred Gilt and reserve champion Breeding Gilt at the 2015 Waupaca County Fair. She exhibits as a member of the Wisconsin Show Pig Association.
Showing “Petunia” was a family project fro Sopia, Annalisha and Katrina Shaw, of Waupaca. The Holstein calf was borrowed from Mill Stream Dairy, of Scandinavia.

Jake Steinbach, of Fremont, won grand champion Crossbred Steer at the Waupaca County Fair. He is a member of the Sandy Knoll 4-H Club.

Emma Achoneck, of Krossing Creeks 4-H Club, Marion, won grand champion Guernsey with a 2 year old cow named “Lacey.”

Cian Fischer, of Fremont, won grand champion recognition for an angel clock and a youth leadership DVD. A member of Tri County 4-H Club, he also won grand champion Roaster at the Waupaca County Fair.

Yellowstone Trail Festival

Yellow flowers and painted rocks decorated yards and businesses along Fremont’s Wolf River Drive as part of last weekend’s celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the Yellowstone Trail coming through Wisconsin.
Old cars line Fremont’s Wolf River Drive Saturday, Aug. 22. The Wolf River Optimist Club sponsored the weekend festival.
Families check out some of the vendors at Fremont’s Yellowstone Trail Festival. Last weekend’s event also include music, a night glow run and helicopter rides.

Dylan Thorne Memorial Ride

A large group of bikes and cars took to the highways for the Dylan Thorne Memorial Ride. The event was held in Iola on Sunday, July 19, marking the third anniversary of his death, caused by an alleged drunk driver. Holly Neumann Photos
