CLINTONVILLE – The Clintonville School District has received a $15,000 donation from an anonymous donor to be put toward the outdoor classroom project at Clintonville Elementary School.
The $15,000 donation, which Clintonville Superintendent Troy Kuhn informed the Clintonville School Board about at its Sept. 22 meeting, will allow the district to move forward with the outdoor classroom project and finish it. The district had received a different $15,000 donation in the spring from the Clintonville Elementary School PTO, but was still around $15,000 short for funding the outdoor classroom project.
Clintonville Elementary School PTO President Laurie Vollrath also addressed the board during the public comments portion of the board meeting about the anonymous donation.
“We are beyond grateful for that donation and I would like to personally thank the person or persons responsible for that amazing donation towards elementary education,” Vollrath said.
Vollrath added that the PTO has also received a $200 donation from Seagrave Fire Apparatus and several small donations from community members.
“We will continue to fundraise to purchase seating for the outdoor classroom because we have just the funding for the building,” Vollrath said. “But what an amazingly generous community that we live in.”
