Waupaca County sheriff’s report July 11

  • July 8 – A New London man on County Trunk N reported his neighbor was shooting fireworks too close to his barn.
  • July 8 – A Waupaca man on McAllister Road reported a suspicious bullet hole in the door of his storage unit.
  • July 8 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile was throwing rocks at the staff.
  • July 8 – A Manawa woman on Second Street reported she received a fraudulent check for $25,000.
  • July 8 – An Iola caller on Ellefson Street reported his neighbor’s car was running with the garage door down. The door was locked and no one was answering.
  • July 8 – A Waupaca caller on Main Street reported a suspicious vehicle parked with the headlights on.
  • July 8 – A female caller reported she was hiding in a bush with a knife and she feared for her life. The call disconnected.
  • July 9 – A Marion woman on Pigeon River Shores reported getting a voicemail from Walmart. She was then transferred to “Social Security.” Now she is out $2,000.
  • July 9 – A Waupaca man on Berkshire Lane reported a minivan drove through a closed-off construction site and flipped off the workers.
  • July 9 – A Fremont an on Wisconsin Street reported his father locked him out of the house and would not let him back in to get his things.
  • July 9 – A New London man on Fox Trail requested a welfare check on his mother, who he had not spoken to for two days, which is unusual. His brother stays with her and he is a drug addict.
  • July 9 – A Waupaca man on Christmas Tree Lane reported a possible gas leak.
  • July 9 – A Waupaca woman on Union Street reported a man would not stop hitting her.
  • July 9 – Culvers in Waupaca reported a suspicious male messing with the drive-through windows.
  • July 9 – Authorities in Delaware County, Ohio, requested a check on a missing person who was possibly at a local address.
  • July 10 – An Ogdensburg man reported the death of a 43-year-old woman. She was cold to the touch.
  • July 10 – A Waupaca woman on County Trunk QQ requested an ambulance for a 54-year-old man who fell down a flight of stairs. He was snoring at the bottom of the stairs. He was an alcoholic and could not be woken up.
  • July 10 – A New London woman on Buelow Road reported a person was improperly spreading manure on a field.
  • July 10 – The Pines in Embarrass reported they confiscated drug paraphernalia from one of their patients.
  • July 10 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway.
  • July 10 – A 911 caller requested an ambulance for a 39-year-old man with his hand stuck under a car tire.
  • July 10 – A male caller reported loud music and a possible party involving underage drinking.
  • July 10 – A male caller reported he was staying at a rental house and a person broke into the game room and was trying to leave by boat.
  • July 10 – A New London caller on Buelow Road reported a vehicle rollover in a cornfield.
  • July 10 – A Wild Rose woman reported somebody put sugar in the gas tank of her Cadillac Escalade.
  • July 11 – The Iola Car Show reported a missing person.
  • July 11 – The Iola Car Show reported a person not affiliated with the car show was selling wristbands.
  • July 11- A male caller reported being involved in a fraud that was composed of a scam email, a number to call and transferring $7,950 into a Bitcoin machine in Greenville.
  • July 11 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King reported the theft of $150 from a resident.
  • July 11 – UW-Stevens Point reported a death threat involving a juvenile with a knife.
  • July 11 – A female caller at the Iola Car Show reported people at the neighboring campsite have been arguing and yelling for the past 24 hours. The caller witnessed a mother hitting a child in the face.
  • July 11 – Rawhide Youth Services reported two juvenile runaways.
  • July 11 – A caller reported her husband was drunk and hit her.
  • July 11 – A caller reported an intoxicated man locker her out of a house and she had no shoes.
  • July 11 – Kwik Trip on County Trunk QQ in Waupaca reported a man driving a convertible that looked like it had been in a crash with no lights on heading towards Plover on State Highway 54. They smelled intoxicants on the driver.
  • There was a below average amount of deer-auto collisions during this period. Four controlled burns were called in. The water patrol stopped 18 boats. A dog was run over on Swamp Road. A caller reported some goats and sheep had no shelter to get out of the sun. A female caller reported an owl in the middle of the road that would not move. There were multiple reports of trees down in the road.
