Waupaca County sheriff’s report Aug. 4

  • July 29 – A New London woman on Collier Road reported she brought her dog to a local animal hospital and the veterinarians did not treat the dog. The dog later died.
  • July 29 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile struck another youth.
  • July 29 – A cell phone caller requested a welfare check on an older woman who kept falling off her bicycle.
  • July 29 – A caller reported that a grandfather was going to “dunk” or throw a child into the water.
  • July 29 – A Waupaca caller on Smith Road reported a suspicious man walking down the road.
  • July 29 – A Fremont caller on Wolf River Drive reported her husband stopped at the bank and then a gas station. When he got home he noticed $1,000 was missing from the envelope.
  • July 29 – A 911 caller reported a juvenile was feeling suicidal and provided an address.
  • July 29 – A Ogdensburg man on Spring Street reported three suspicious people in a parking lot that is usually empty.
  • July 30 – An Iola man on Iola Street reported a suspicious man in his 20s on the side of the road and in the ditch that “seemed out of it.”
  • July 30 – Wolf River Veterinary Clinic in Manawa reported a person witnessed someone throwing a kitten from a car. The kitten had facial lacerations and the person brought the cat to the clinic.
  • July 30 – An Iola caller reported a person struck her garbage can and there was glass and car debris everywhere.
  • July 30 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King reported the theft of a female’s coin purse that contained personal ID.
  • July 30 – A Clintonville caller on Lakeshore Road reported her neighbors were shooting paintball guns and some paintballs landed in her yard.
  • July 30 – Rawhide Youth Services reported two juvenile runaways.
  • July 30 – A Ogdensburg caller on Main Street reported that it sounded like someone was in her attic.
  • July 30 – A New London caller reported she was stranded with someone she was not supposed to have contact with. The woman was crying and screaming.
  • July 30 – A Manawa woman on Fourth Street reported the upstairs neighbor’s children were jumping around and the caller’s own children could not go to sleep.
  • July 31 – A Clintonville man on Laude Road reported people trespassing and “digging and buying stuff.”
  • July 31 – Eastside Mobil in Waupaca reported a person scammed their third-shift employee out of $2,000.
  • July 31 – A caller reported someone drove through their yard and ran over a duck. The duck died.
  • July 31 – An Ogdensburg man on County Trunk E reported his neighbor called him and told him his ex-wife was at his house taking things. She hasn’t lived there in six months.
  • July 31 – A female caller at a boat landing reported a male driver drinking alcohol in a silver Toyota Tacoma. Also, other males in the group spilled gasoline in the water creating an oily slick on the surface.
  • July 31 – Shawano County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with three intoxicated individuals on a charter bus that refused to let the bus driver leave until they got their money back.
  • July 31 – Brown County Crisis reported they had a male on the line with suicidal thoughts. When the male told his father this, his father tied him to a pole.
  • July 31 – A Clintonville woman on McKinley Avenue reported two suspicious vehicles near Torborgs Lumber. They were being driven recklessly at high speeds.
  • July 31 – A caller provided an address to an underage drinking party. Later, another caller reported loud music at an address that possibly was an underage party.
  • Aug. 1 – A female caller reported she was fearful of her husband as he was acting erratic.
  • Aug 1. – A Manawa caller on Little Creek Road requested a welfare check on his significant other. She commented that she “will be at home dead on the floor,” and “I love you” and “Pick up the kids.” They were having relationship problems.
  • Aug. 1 – A Marion caller on Main Street reported he was assaulted by his daughter who left in his vehicle.
  • Aug. 1 – Rawhide Youth Services reported two juvenile runaways.
  • Aug. 1 – A Clintonville caller on Laude Street reported his intoxicated wife was trying to start fights. When asked if it was physical, he said, “Let’s say no.”
  • Aug. 1 – A New London woman on Washington Street reported a passed-out male in a red vehicle that was parked at the pumps of a gas station.
  • Aug. 2 – A Manawa woman on State Highway 22-110 reported a man slumped back in his white Impala. The vehicle was running.
  • Aug. 2 – Eastside Mobil in Waupaca reported a gas drive-off valued at $15. The vehicle was a black Honda Accord.
  • Aug. 2 – A Waupaca caller on Old Highway 22 reported a man on a moped asked her husband for money as he ran out of gas. The caller suspected the man was intoxicated.
  • Aug. 2 – Gateway House in Weyauwega reported a man and a woman wearing black ran out the back door headed for the railroad tracks.
  • Aug. 2 – An Iola man on Thoe Road reported a car drove past him and the driver threw a container of chocolate milk at his vehicle.
  • Aug. 3 – An Ogdensburg caller on Washington Street reported her house and car were egged.
  • Aug. 3 – A Clintonville caller on Hilltop Road reported a woman sitting in the ditch talking to herself and rocking back and forth.
  • Aug. 3 – A Clintonville caller on 14th Street reported a woman showed up at his door screaming and trying to get a phone away from her daughter. He did not know the woman and she said she was going to hit the caller.
  • Aug. 3 – A Clintonville woman on Industrial Drive reported a male messaged her at 1 a.m. and stated he was “going to go down to his basement and put a bullet in his head.”
  • Aug. 3 – A Waupaca caller on Hidden Otter Trail reported she saw someone going through her car.
  • Aug. 4 – A New London caller on Larry Road reported two suspicious men in a late-model black sedan that said they were looking for places to go fishing. The caller suspected they were scoping out houses.
  • Aug. 4 – Rawhide reported two juvenile runaways.
  • There was a below average amount of deer-auto collisions during this period. Four controlled burns were called in. The water patrol stopped nine boats. A Waupaca woman was bitten by her own dog. A mail carrier from the Waupaca Post Office reported a dangerous low-hanging utility wire. A person reported dogs locked in an old Ford F-250 while the owner was inside playing a gambling machine. ThedaCare in Manawa reported a man was bitten by a dog at a campground. American Fence Company reported hitting a gas line in the town of Farmington. A Clintonville man was bitten by his own dog. A female caller reported a lost calf in the ditch. A Waupaca woman on Bunker Road reported five pigs on the loose and heading into the woods. There were numerous calls about fallen trees blocking roadways. A Waupaca man on Cobbtown Road was bitten by his own dog. A sheriff deputy moved a turtle across the road.
