Sully Perkins-Amherst

The Amherst Falcons wrapped up their regular season with an impressive 8-1 record and are set to kick off the 2025 WIAA football playoffs at home against Lancaster on October 24. Sully Perkins has been a key player for the Falcons, leading the team in receiving with 23 catches for 584 yards and six touchdowns. He also made an impact on defense with three interceptions.

Building on his season achievements, in 2024, Sully was a First-Team All-Central Wisconsin Conference selection at wide receiver and a Second-Team selection at defensive back.

Sully got an early start in sports, thanks to his mother introducing him to football when he was just four. He’s also made a name for himself in baseball, playing on the Amherst team that reached the state tournament during his freshman year.

Among his several memorable moments, Sully’s most special is seeing his parents in the stands at every game.

Sully has put time in so he can be successful on the field and in the classroom.

“I’ve learned how to manage my time more effectively so everything becomes easier for me in the classroom.”

The value of teammates he has gained makes sports rewarding for Sully: “The family you make along the way, they all make the game more fun.”

Sully says he owes much of his success to the teammates and coaches he’s met along the way, including Brandon Jones from Roan Mountain, Tennessee, and Austin and Bill Lambert from Stony Creek, Tennessee.

Perkins, on the growth he has had over his time at Amherst, “Feels amazing to see the improvement I’ve made and the challenges I’ve overcome as a person and an athlete.”
