The SPASH Panthers delivered a commanding performance from the opening faceoff, rolling to a 14–0 shutout victory over Wausau East Merrill-United in a lopsided contest on Jan. 15 that showcased the team’s depth, speed, and offensive firepower.
The Panthers wasted little time getting on the board in the first period. Beckett Carroll opened the scoring at 4:57, setting the tone for what quickly became a relentless offensive surge. Less than a minute later, Jackson Flees doubled the lead, followed by goals from Max Mittelsteadt and Beau Schroeder in rapid succession. By the 6:54 mark of the first period, SPASH had already built a 4–0 advantage and firmly seized control of the game.
The second period proved even more decisive. Grant Molski struck just 55 seconds in, kicking off an eight-goal frame that put the game completely out of reach. Mittelsteadt netted his second of the night, Ethon Fischer and Grady Miller added goals of their own, and Molski continued his standout performance with two more tallies, including a power-play goal at 12:31. Beau Schroeder recorded his second goal of the game, while Jeran Bolton capped off the scoring spree late in the period to give the Panthers a commanding 12–0 lead heading into the third.
Despite the overwhelming margin, SPASH showed no signs of letting up in the final period. Flees scored his second goal of the game at 13:54, and Thomas Oswall closed out the scoring with a goal at 16:36, sealing the 14–0 win.
